“Las Vegas court records” can mean different official systems. City of Las Vegas Municipal Court records are not the same as Las Vegas Township Justice Court records, and neither is the same as Clark County District Court records. The Clark County District Court is the Eighth Judicial District Court for Clark County, Nevada.
For District Court records, the Clerk of the Court maintains records from September 1909 through the present. Most District Court records from 1990 to the present may be searched online. Are Las Vegas sealed court records available online?
No. Eighth Judicial District Court guidance says there is no internet access to sealed records. Parties to the action and counsel of record may request sealed case access in person at the Clerk of the Court where the case was filed with photo identification, but adoption case access requires a court order. Las Vegas Justice Court also states that sealed cases, protective orders, and certain exempt information will not appear on its public website.
Is the Clark County Clerk or Recorder the same as the Clerk of the Court?
No. The Clark County Clerk’s Office states that it is not the Clerk of the Court and does not handle court matters. The Clark County Recorder handles recorded documents such as deeds, trust deeds, liens, maps, and other official records. Court records are handled by the court or clerk office that maintains the case file.
Where do I search Las Vegas federal court or bankruptcy records?
Use PACER for federal district, bankruptcy, and federal appellate records. Las Vegas state, justice, and municipal court portals do not contain federal court files. For many Las Vegas federal matters, use the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada, or PACER Case Locator if you do not know the federal court.
