Denver County Court Records Search: County Court, District, Probate, Juvenile & PACER Routes
Denver is different from most Colorado counties because its court system is split among four separate courts: Denver County Court, Denver District Court, Denver Probate Court, and Denver Juvenile Court. Use this guide to choose the right official search, docket, records, copy, or federal PACER route.
Public-Court-Records.us is independent. This website is not Denver County Court, the Colorado Judicial Branch, Denver District Court, Denver Probate Court, Denver Juvenile Court, a law firm, a government agency, PACER, or a Consumer Reporting Agency. This page is general public-record guidance only and is not legal advice.
Responsible-use warning: a name match does not prove identity. A complaint, warrant, arrest, charge, citation, lawsuit, petition, docket entry, or register of actions does not prove guilt or liability. Do not use this page for employment, tenant, credit, insurance, licensing, or other FCRA-regulated screening decisions.
Denver court records require the right court first
Colorado Judicial Branch explains that Denver’s Second Judicial District is not a combined court. Denver is made up of four constitutionally separate courts: County Court, District Court, Probate Court, and Juvenile Court. That structure controls where you search and where you request copies.
Denver County Court handles its own records separately from the state court record request process. Denver District, Probate, and Juvenile Court records use Colorado Judicial Branch court-location and record request routes. Federal district and bankruptcy cases are separate again and use PACER.
County Court, District Court, Probate Court, and Juvenile Court are separate in Denver.
Denver is Colorado’s Second Judicial District, but its court structure is unusual.
Denver County Court and state record forms list $0.25 per paper copy page in many situations.
Denver County Court and Colorado Judicial Branch record forms list $20.00 for certification in many requests.

| Need | Correct source | What to do first |

| Denver District Court civil lawsuit, domestic relations, divorce decree, parenting plan, support order, or district protection order | Denver District Court / Colorado Judicial Branch | Use Colorado Judicial Branch record request form or Denver District Court records department. Do not submit Denver County Court cases to the state record form. |

| Estate, will, trust, letters, guardianship, conservatorship, probate claims, or probate petition | Denver Probate Court | Use Denver Probate Court record request procedures or email DenverProbateRecordsRequest@judicial.state.co.us with case details and requested documents. |
| Juvenile, adoption, relinquishment, juvenile expungement, parentage, or child-support juvenile matter | Denver Juvenile Court | Use the Colorado record request form and be prepared for ID or access restrictions. Many juvenile records are not ordinary public records. |

| Federal civil, federal criminal, or bankruptcy case | PACER, District of Colorado, or U.S. Bankruptcy Court District of Colorado | Use PACER Find a Case or the specific federal court. Denver County Court and Colorado state courts do not hold federal case dockets. |
How to search Denver County Court records without using the wrong portal
Denver County Court’s Public Portal is an online case-access and case-management system for Denver County Court matters. It provides case-number lookup, register of actions access, case schedule, parties, charges, sentences, fines and costs, payments, bonds posted, and docket/calendar features for eligible cases.

| Colorado Judicial Branch record/document request copy | $0.25 per page; a maximum fee of $15.00 may apply for parties and their attorneys in some requests, while non-parties may have no maximum. | Use the court’s estimate because requester status and document type can affect cost. |

| State court name search | $5.00 name-search fee appears on Colorado Judicial Branch record request forms. | Use a case number if you have one to avoid unnecessary name-search work. |
| PACER federal records | PACER pricing verified September 19, 2026: $0.10 per page, $3.00 cap for many case-specific documents, $30 quarterly waiver threshold; temporary change to $0.12 per page and $40 quarterly waiver threshold starts January 1, 2027. | Use a case number or narrow date filters because search results and no-match searches can still generate charges. |

Denver County Court states that appeals from Denver County Court are reviewed by Denver District Court. If a transcript is related to an appeal, Denver County Court’s transcript form routes it to the appeals clerk.

How to read Denver court-record fields without over-interpreting them
A docket or register of actions is a court activity record. It may show filings, hearings, orders, charges, sentences, payments, bonds, or minute entries, depending on the court and case type. It may not include protected documents, sealed materials, complete evidence, or the full legal meaning of an entry.
Plaintiff, defendant, petitioner, respondent, appellant, appellee, protected party, restrained party, decedent, ward, guardian, conservator, creditor, and debtor are roles. A role does not always mean wrongdoing.
Open, active, closed, dismissed, disposed, satisfied, sealed, suppressed, continued, vacated, or reopened should be read in context. Verify the current disposition with the court.
A complaint, summons, citation, charge, warrant, petition, motion, or indictment is not proof that an allegation is true. Confirm final court action before relying on a record.
Use Denver County court records carefully
- Do not identify a person from a common name alone.
- Compare court, case number, case class, filing year, party role, docket entries, and lawful identifying details.
- Do not assume a charge or citation is a conviction.
- Do not assume a civil judgment shows current payment or satisfaction status.
- Do not harass, threaten, shame, or retaliate against anyone.
- Do not publish children’s names, home addresses, health details, financial identifiers, or unnecessary sensitive information.
- Do not bypass sealed, suppressed, juvenile, probate, or confidential restrictions.
- Contact the official custodian for corrections, redactions, sealing, expungement, and certified copies.
