Arizona County Court Records Search: Public Access, eAccess, County Clerks & PACER Routes
Arizona “county court records” are usually Superior Court, Justice Court, or Municipal Court records—not one single county-court database. Use this guide to choose the right official Arizona case lookup, eAccess document search, county Superior Court Clerk, appellate, or federal PACER route.
Public-Court-Records.us is independent. This website is not the Arizona Judicial Branch, an Arizona county Superior Court Clerk, a Justice Court, a Municipal Court, a law firm, a government agency, PACER, or a Consumer Reporting Agency. This page is general public-record guidance only and is not legal advice.
Responsible-use warning: a name match does not prove identity. A complaint, arrest, charge, indictment, lawsuit, petition, citation, protective-order reference, docket entry, or search result does not prove guilt or liability. Do not use this page for employment, tenant, credit, insurance, licensing, or other FCRA-regulated screening decisions.
Arizona county court records are split by court level and county clerk
Arizona’s court system includes the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, Superior Court, Justice Courts, and Municipal Courts. The Superior Court is the state’s general-jurisdiction trial court and has locations in every Arizona county. Each county has a Clerk of Superior Court who maintains court case files, certifies documents, collects fees, and performs related court-record duties.
The biggest mistake is searching only one database and assuming it covers everything. Arizona Public Access is useful for many case lookups. eAccess is useful for available Superior Court civil and criminal documents. County clerks remain the official route for certified copies, missing records, older files, family, probate, juvenile, sealed, and restricted matters.
Every Arizona county has a Superior Court and an elected Clerk of Superior Court.
Arizona Public Access describes case information from 177 out of 184 courts, with exclusions and limitations.
eAccess covers available Superior Court civil and criminal records filed on or after July 1, 2010.
Pima County criminal case records in eAccess begin with cases filed on or after July 1, 2015.
Arizona county court record route finder
Select the record type. This helper runs in your browser and does not ask for names, case numbers, birth dates, addresses, driver license numbers, or other identifiers.
Public Access can help locate docket-level information for many Arizona courts, but it is not the official record and excludes several case types. Verify important results with the court of record.
Choose the correct Arizona court record system
Use this table before searching. Arizona has statewide tools, but the official custodian is still the court or clerk that holds the record.

| Juvenile delinquency, dependency, incorrigible, adoption, or restricted youth matter | County juvenile court / Clerk of Superior Court | Treat juvenile records as restricted. Do not attempt to bypass confidentiality or publish unnecessary sensitive details. |
| Justice Court small claims, evictions, protective orders, traffic, misdemeanors, or precinct cases | Justice Court named in the case or Arizona Courts Locator | Use Public Access for docket information when available, or contact the specific Justice Court. eAccess does not provide Justice Court records. |
| Municipal Court citation, city ordinance case, city criminal misdemeanor, or city traffic ticket | Municipal Court named on the ticket or notice | Use the city court route. Local ordinance charges are not included in the Arizona Public Access case lookup. |
| Arizona Supreme Court or Court of Appeals case | Arizona Appellate Court Case portal | Use the active-case portal for Supreme Court, Division One, or Division Two information, then contact the appellate clerk for official files or certified copies. |
| Federal civil, federal criminal, federal appellate, or bankruptcy case | PACER, District of Arizona, or Arizona Bankruptcy Court | Use PACER Find a Case if the federal court is unknown. Arizona county and state portals do not contain federal records. |
Public Access and eAccess are not the same Arizona court-record tool

Arizona appeals, federal court records, and bankruptcy records
State trial-court records, Arizona appellate records, federal district court cases, and bankruptcy cases are separate systems. A county case lookup will not show federal PACER documents, and a federal docket will not replace a county Superior Court file.
Use the Arizona Appellate Court Case portal for active Arizona Supreme Court, Court of Appeals Division One, and Court of Appeals Division Two matters. The portal is updated by 7:00 a.m. daily, but official records are maintained at the appellate courthouse.
Division One is based in Phoenix and includes counties such as Apache, Coconino, La Paz, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, Yavapai, and Yuma. Division Two is based in Tucson and includes Cochise, Gila, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Pinal, and Santa Cruz.
Use PACER for the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, federal appellate matters, and U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona. Federal records are not searched through Arizona county Superior Court clerks.
What to do if an Arizona county court-record search returns no result
- Wrong court level: Superior, Justice, Municipal, appellate, federal, or bankruptcy.
- Wrong county or city court.
- Name spelling, middle name, suffix, business punctuation, or date range mismatch.
- Looking for documents in Public Access instead of eAccess or the county clerk.
- Looking for Justice or Municipal Court documents in eAccess.
- Sealed, restricted, protected, or confidential record.
- Probate, mental-health, family, domestic-relations, juvenile, or protective-order matter.
- Older record outside online coverage.
- Municipal ordinance case excluded from the state case lookup.
- Federal case that belongs in PACER.
How to read Arizona court-record fields without over-interpreting them
A case lookup or docket is a court activity record. It may show filings, hearings, charges, minutes, orders, judgments, dispositions, or case events depending on the court and case type. It may not include sealed documents, confidential information, complete evidence, or the full legal meaning of an entry.
Plaintiff, defendant, petitioner, respondent, appellant, appellee, protected party, restrained party, decedent, personal representative, guardian, ward, creditor, and debtor are roles. A role does not always mean wrongdoing.
Active, open, pending, closed, dismissed, disposed, satisfied, appealed, sealed, or restricted should be read in context. Verify the current disposition with the official court.
A complaint, petition, citation, charge, indictment, motion, or order request is not proof that an allegation is true. Confirm final court action before relying on a record.
Use Arizona county court records carefully
- Do not identify a person from a common name alone.
- Compare court, county, case number, filing date, party role, docket entries, and lawful identifying details.
- Do not assume an arrest, charge, or citation is a conviction.
- Do not assume a civil judgment shows current payment or satisfaction status.
- Do not harass, threaten, shame, or retaliate against anyone.
- Do not publish children’s names, home addresses, protected health details, financial identifiers, or unnecessary sensitive information.
- Do not bypass sealed, juvenile, family, probate, mental-health, protective-order, or confidential restrictions.
- Contact the official custodian for corrections, redactions, sealing, set-aside, expungement-related questions, and certified copies.
Frequently asked questions about Arizona county court records
Where do I search Arizona county court records online?
Start with Arizona Public Access to Court Case Information for case lookup and use eAccess for available Superior Court civil and criminal documents. For official files, certified copies, missing records, older records, family, probate, juvenile, sealed, or restricted matters, contact the Clerk of Superior Court in the county where the case was filed.
Does Arizona have county courts like some other states?
Arizona does not use a separate county-court level in the same way some states do. County-level trial records usually involve Superior Court, Justice Court, or Municipal Court. Superior Court is the general jurisdiction court with locations in each Arizona county.
What is Arizona eAccess used for?
eAccess is used for online access to available Arizona Superior Court civil and criminal case records filed on or after July 1, 2010. Pima County criminal records in eAccess begin with cases filed on or after July 1, 2015. Probate, juvenile, and family or domestic-relations records are not available through eAccess.
Can I search Arizona court records by name?
Many Arizona court lookup routes allow party or case searches, but the available fields vary by court and system. A name match alone does not prove identity. Compare county, court, case number, filing date, party role, case type, docket entries, and final disposition before relying on a result.
Are Arizona Justice Court and Municipal Court documents available through eAccess?
No. eAccess does not provide records from Arizona Justice Courts or Municipal Courts. Use Public Access for docket information when available, the Arizona Courts Locator, or the specific justice or municipal court named on the ticket, complaint, notice, or docket.
Are Arizona family, probate, and juvenile records available online?
Family, domestic-relations, probate, and juvenile records have important restrictions. eAccess does not provide probate, juvenile, or family/domestic-relations Superior Court records. Contact the Clerk of Superior Court in the county where the case was filed and be prepared for identification, party-access, sealing, or confidentiality limits.
How much does Arizona eAccess cost?
eAccess allows a free preview of the first page of a document. To view and download all pages of a document, the listed pay-as-you-go fee is $10 per document. Electronically certified documents cost an additional fee, listed as $45 for pay-as-you-go accounts and $35 for recurring subscription or approved government-organization accounts.
Where do I get a certified Arizona county court record?
For Superior Court records, contact the Clerk of Superior Court in the county where the case was filed. eAccess can provide electronically certified documents in some situations, but some entities may require a certified copy with a raised seal from the clerk’s office directly.
Where do I search Arizona appeals?
Use the Arizona Appellate Court Case portal for active Arizona Supreme Court, Court of Appeals Division One, and Court of Appeals Division Two matters. The appellate site provides active case information, decisions, minutes, and calendars, but the official case record is maintained at the appellate courthouse.
Where do I search Arizona federal or bankruptcy cases?
Use PACER for federal district, federal appellate, and bankruptcy cases. Arizona federal matters may involve the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona or the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona, not a county Superior Court, Justice Court, or Municipal Court.
